Salon des refusÉs

In 2017 an alterative selection of artworks entered into the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture will be showcased in the lobby of Tower 2, Brookfield Place.

The idea of the Salon des Refuses originated in Paris in the nineteenth century when works by avant garde artists were not accepted into exhibitions organised by the establishment. This led to artists mounting their own exhibitions, and eventually achieving great success. It has been decided to give Black Swan entrants who were not selected for the main award an opportunity to show their work in a similar spirit. In this way members of the public will be able to experience the full variety of works submitted, and the talents of the artists who submitted them.

Brookfield Property Partner’s have agreed to support this initiative, which demonstrates the high standard of those works which are submitted but did not make it through to the final selection.

Dates: TBC - Week days only

Times:  8am - 6pm.
