In 2016, a series of engaging community activities were undertaken for the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture. The public participated in portraiture workshops (from kids, to beginners through to advanced), guided tours, artist floor talks and were invited to watch live painting demonstrations at ArtHouse Dine.

The Perth Cultural Centre came to life with a fabulous printed Community Exhibition featuring the Youth Award and artworks created in partnership with our community partners Amana Living, Starlight Children's Foundation and Unitingcare West.

Audiences also witnessed a live portraiture challenge with Famous Sharron and an exciting plein-air competition.

All workshops were undertaken by Black Swan Prize finalists or previous winners and were free for the public to enjoy.
