In 2016, a series of engaging community activities were undertaken for the Black Swan Prize for Portraiture. The public participated in portraiture workshops (from kids, to beginners through to advanced), guided tours, artist floor talks and were invited to watch live painting demonstrations at ArtHouse Dine.
The Perth Cultural Centre came to life with a fabulous printed Community Exhibition featuring the Youth Award and artworks created in partnership with our community partners Amana Living, Starlight Children's Foundation and Unitingcare West.
All workshops were undertaken by Black Swan Prize finalists or previous winners and were free for the public to enjoy.
We were also proud to host our first ever Artists' Conference at the Art Gallery of WA which included three professional development sessions:
We would like to thank all of the artists and members of the public for attending these free seminars, and look forward to hosting our second Artists' Conference in 2017.
