HISTORY

Our Beginnings

ARTrinsic Inc, a not-for-profit organisation, was set up in 2007 to provide an avenue for artists to exhibit works of Portraiture within Western Australia. The first year featured a retrospective exhibition of Western Australian entrants of the Archibald Prize and was a resounding success.

Due to the exhibition's popularity ARTrinsic decided to create an annual National Portrait Prize for the public to enjoy. It is now the third richest portrait prize in Australia and continues to grow thanks to the support of our generous sponsors.

The Heritage Prize

In 2012-2014 we were delighted to partner with Heritage Perth for three successful years in the creation of a unique Heritage prize.

This prize featured depictions of any aspect of the heritage of Perth city, and helped raise awareness and appreciation of its built and natural heritage. The Heritage Prize has now come to a close.
